Nigerian Agip Oil Company Tertiary Institution Scholarship Scheme 2012

The Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited (NAOC) Operator of the NNPC/NAOC/Phillips Joint Venture  in pursuance of its Corporate Social Responsibility invites application from suitably qualified applicants for its 2011/2012 session tertiary scholarship scheme, effective; September 15, 2012 to October 6, 2012.

The schoalrship award is in the following categories:

Category of Awards
  • Host Communities Merit Award - For applicants strictly from NAOC host communities
  • National Merit Award For applicants from non-host communities
Elegibility
To qualify for consideration applicants MUST be:
  • Registered FULL TIME undergraduates in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions
  • Certified 100 level students at the time of application

Note: The following categories of students should not apply:
  • 200 level students and above
  • Current beneficiaries of similar awards from other companies and agencies
  • Dependants of NAOC 
Note:
  • Only indigenes of NAOC host communities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and lmo States SHOULD apply for the Host Communities Merit Award.
  • Only candidates studying Engineering, Geology and Geosciences are eligible for the National Merit Award.
Note: All applicants for Host Communities Merit Award MUST attach current (2012 –2013) Letters of Identification duly signed by:
  • the current (2012) Chairman and Secretary of his/her CDC
  • bona-fide traditional/paramount ruler of the community; and,
  • the current (2012) Local Government Chairman or the Secretary
Aptitude Test
An Aptitude Test for the applicants in both Categories of Award will be conducted at the following centers:
  • Port Harcourt
  • Omoku
  • Yenagoa
  • Asaba
  • Lagos
  • Owerri
  • Abuja   
Note: Candidates are to fully bear the cost of transportation to and from the Aptitude Test center.

IMO STATE SCHOLARSHIP FOR UNDERGRADUATES IN NIGERIA AND ABROAD

Information reaching careerandjobs reports that the Governor of Imo State has warned that the scholarship provided to Imo State Born Students studying in the state universities will be given to only students who merit it.

By this notice the students are advised to read and work hard so as to benefit from the Imo State scholarship scheme.

As an advice to our members, we urge all students who intend to start enjoying this scholarship (especially those to right UTME 2012) to put their heads down and strive to maintain a high CGPA of at least 3.5.

In summary, you must always be worthy in Character and Learning to maintain this scholarship.

NDDC FOREIGN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2012


NTRODUCTION
As part of our Human Resource Development initiatives, NDDC is embarking on Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Local Content programme of the current Administration as well as compete globally in various professional fields. The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from recognized Universities in the following professional disciplines:

- Engineering
- Medicine
- Computer Science/Technology
- Geology
- Geosciences
- Environmental Sciences
- Graduate Pilot Training
- Agriculture

Applicants must have gained Post Graduate admission into a recognized University abroad.


APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. First Degree with minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those wishing to undertake a master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognized University.

2. Gained Admission into a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines in a foreign University.

3. Bond of good conduct from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.
a. Member of National Assembly
b. Chairman of the LGA.
c. First class traditional ruler.
d. High Court Judge

4. Persons with evidence of cult membership or criminal record shall not be considered for the award.


MODE OF APPLICATION
Application must be made On-line at the Commission’s website, with the following attachments:

1. Recent passport photograph
2. Local Government identification letter.
3. Post Graduate (PG) admission letter from Overseas University.
4. Relevant Degrees from recognized University.
5. Successfully completed application form will be assigned a registration number automatically.
6. Print the hard copy of the on-line generated acknowledgement for ease of reference.
